OSGi Alliance artifacts available in Maven Central
Up to a month ago, the available OSGi Alliance jars from Maven Central were quite crappy as they had a strange naming scheme, no one assumed ownership and most annoying was that the jars did not have OSGi metadata in their manifest. More, they were version 1.0. 1.0? What version is that?
The only option you had been to use the artifacts provided by Apache Felix or the other framework implementations or the ones provided by OPS4J community.
Finally the official OSGi Alliance artifacts are now in Maven Central. This is exactly the same artifacts that you could download from OSGi Alliance site, with the right manifest and version. And yes, also the just released version 4.2 is already there
From now on, there is no need of using third party repository to get access to them. For those that already used them from OPS4J repository there is no change in groupId/artifactId.
And, just one final mention: uploading the files to Maven Central was made possible via Sonatype provided Nexus instance, a facility that you can use for your OSS projects as well.
